It's been a long and uneventful day today. Last night, after getting all moved in at my new home, I went to a local corn maze with the Oak Valley Branch. It was super fun, especially when Krystal and I got horribly lost in the maze. For a small farm in Missouri, that maze was humongous. Like, even with a map we got lost. But it was so much fun! Krystal kept saying that there was someone behind us, so that was creepy as all get out. And then she'd randomly start smacking the poor corn around. It was just awesome all around!
My friend Mary introduced me to the wonderful world of Glitch. It's an online game that I'd never even heard of before and now it's all I've done ALL day. I haven't even eaten today. Every time I try to leave the game, I get sucked right back in. It's a horrible loop. Oi vey. I think I've finally escaped for a while, and while Seth and Sam are at a Stake Dance, I'm going to watch a movie with Joel and Christie. This family has truly been a major blessing in my life.

Everybody needs to be actively engaged in something. I choose poke wars.
Institute was super awesome tonight. Brother Hendricks was gone (sad day!) but Sister Young was there again. She teaches Institute over in O'Fallon, Illinois and she's been on this side of the river before. She taught our Book of Mormon class a few weeks ago, and that was an amazing experience. She was talking about the Psalm of Nephi, and challenged us to read it out loud at least once. I thought it was sort of silly at first, thinking I'd look like one of those crazy people you see on the subway who quote scripture at you. It didn't even matter that I was alone. But when I finally did it, I realized how amazing it is. So Sister Young was our teacher tonight, which was a nice surprise. We had a great lesson about Nephi's last words, and it was amazing how many little aha moments I had. It was just awesome to feel the Spirit so much in an hour. I love Institute!
In other news, I have the greatest friends ever. Bobby, Jeff, Regan, Skye, Alex, Ginny, and Ervin always make the night just so much more amazing. We got to hang out after Institute and it was, as always, super fun! I honestly don't know what I would do without my friends. It's funny, 'cause I have issues with being in groups, and I lack certain social skills. But those guys are just wonderful! I love being around them. :)

So, this is my third attempt at a blog. Apparently, just like keeping a diary, I fail at remembering to update on a regular basis. This may or may not work, but we'll see. I kind of want to use this as a place to release my verbal and mental diarrhea - if I think it, it'll probably end up here. Fair warning . . .
The adoption was finalized on Friday morning. It was really hard to sit in the courtroom and listen to the judge sit there and say that Jaxon is officially my little brother. I mean, it's a great thing for sure, don't get me wrong. But some part of my mind had blocked out the thought of the adoption and he was still my Jonathan, my little Mr. Muffin Head. I know that this is truly what's best for Jaxon, but I cried pretty much the whole time the judge and lawyers were talking. By the time everything was said and done, I was a mess. Grandma gave me a hug right away, and then we took pictures. We have some with the judge, our lawyer, and the social worker. It was bittersweet for me, honestly.
We went out to eat, and then I got to spend the day with my family. Grandma and I went to the Temple to pick up Jaxon's clothes for the sealing. It was nice to get to spend time with Grandma, 'cause she's my best friend and I've missed her so much. We got to ride around and talk, and I realized just how much I've missed her! We went back to the hotel and just kind of chillaxed, Then, we went to Payless Shoe Store, and I got the cutest shoes! Two pair, actually. I was super excited because I got them on sale for $8 a pair. I totally lucked out.
When we got to the Temple, I sat outside and took pictures. It was hard to not be able to go in, but it was neat to see everyone go in all excited! And I met this really amazing lady from Arkansas who had traveled so far just to be at the Temple. It was fantastic getting to talk to her, and share my story. She said two of her children left the church, and when I told her about my experiences, she said it was nice to have hope again. Made me blush . . . :)
It was neat to see Jaxon come out of the Temple with my family. He didn't look any different, per se, but it was weird 'cause he was glowing. It was cool to see. We met up with the Gomes family and the Long family at Hokkaido (my favorite Chinese buffet) and we ate until we were ready to pop. It was so delish . . . And then I spent most of Saturday with my mom, Grandma, and Jaylyn at the mall. It was pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
Monday I was told that I may be able to go on a mission. It's funny, but I'm honestly the last person I would have expected to even think about a mission. But when I got my Patriarchal blessing and my mom read it, she said that what it sounds like I'm meant to do. And a really good friend of mine said the same thing. I didn't see it at first, but now I do. If you had asked me a year ago where'd be in my life, I wouldn't have even thought rebaptism would be a possibility. My life has changed SO much, it's just mind blowing. Like, boom.
